Additional Backup Information:
In Fiscal Year 2024-2025, the City expects to receive federal funding through four U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) formula grants: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA). In order to receive these HUD grants, the City submits a Consolidated Plan every five years that provides an overview of the community needs, resources, priorities, and proposed activities with regard to housing, community development, economic development, and public services.
As of April 19, 2024, HUD had not yet announced the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 grant allocation for annual entitlement grants.
As part of the Consolidated Plan process, the City must review its CPP, which is a community developed plan required by HUD that is designed to encourage participation of city residents in the development of the Consolidated Plan. The CPP requires the City to hold two public hearings on revisions to the CPP: one before the City Council and one before the CDC. There is also a public comment period on the revised CPP.
The revised CPP will be made available for public comment from May 7, 2024 - June 5, 2024. During the public comment period, two public hearings will be conducted to receive input on the revised plan, one before the CDC and one before the City Council. It is anticipated that the City Council will take final action on the revised CPP on July 18, 2024.
