Council Committee, Boards and Commission Action:

May 5, 2022 - Council approved a contract for a web-based management of a fire safety system with Brycer, LP.

Additional Backup Information:

The amendment will allow Austin Fire to continue using The Compliance Engine, a web-based service that manages the testing, maintenance, and repair reports required for all fire safety systems within the municipality. The system works with third-party inspection companies to obtain inspection reports for thousands of property owners/management companies. Increased authorization is needed because demand for compliance reporting and tracking of fire safety systems in commercial and multi-residential properties has grown and will continue to grow as the City expands, necessitating additional use of the web-based system and services.

Brycer, LP is providing proprietary technology and business processes that are unique to their company. The services include exclusive fire code compliance technology, a technical database specifically developed for Austin Fire, and detailed tracking of all commercial properties within the City for fire system compliance. Other vendors cannot provide these services due to the innovative technology and in-depth database tracking system developed for Austin Fire.
