Austin Financial Services issued an Invitation for Bids solicitation IFB 6200 MAS1004 for these goods. The solicitation published on July 7, 2025, and closed on August 5, 2025. Of the five offers received, the bids submitted by the recommended contractor were the lowest bids received. This solicitation was reviewed for subcontracting opportunities in accordance with City Code Chapter 2-9B (Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Procurement Program). For the goods required for this solicitation, there were no subcontracting opportunities; therefore, no subcontracting goals were established.

Additional Backup Information:
The contract will provide traffic signal cable, loop detector lead-in cable, and Category 5e cable of various types and sizes. The cable is UV-rated for outdoor installation and is used for maintenance and repair of traffic signals and school zone signals. The cable will be ordered to ensure adequate supply is available for day-to-day operations of City crews. This contract is necessary to supply the City with a reliable supply of traffic signal cable.
The contract is replacing a previous contract that expires November 28, 2025. The requested authorization is based on historical spend and forecasted needs.
The recommended contractor Nassau Electrical Supply is the current provider for these goods.
If a contract is not secured, it will result in an unreliable supply of cable, which may impact public safety due to increased downtime of traffic signal systems.
