This action will authorize spending of an additional $82,972 for a total of $174,369 in available funding in the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 East 6th Street Public Improvement District (PID) Special Revenue Fund. Due to a delay in receiving Fiscal Year 2024-2025 invoices from 6ixth Street Austin, Council approval is required to reimburse 6ixth Street Austin for PID services for two fiscal years in Fiscal Year 2025-2026. The funds are being spent as Council approved in the Service and Assessment Plans adopted in Ordinance No. 20230831-014 for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 and Ordinance No. 20240718-122 for Fiscal Year 2025-2026.
In 2004 the East Sixth PID was created and subsequently reauthorized by Council in 2009, 2014, 2019, and 2024, as permitted by Chapter 372 of Texas Local Government Code. Since the creation of the PID, the City has contracted with the Pecan Street Owners Association doing business as 6ixth Street Austin to manage the PID. Resolution No. 20240912-074 re-authorized the East Sixth PID from 2024-2029 and designated 6ixth Street Austin as the advisory body. In August 29, 2024, Council approved a management agreement with Pecan Street Owners Association to manage the PID for a not to exceed amount of $420,000.
