Authorize negotiation and execution of an amendment to the agreement with Meals on Wheels & More, Inc. d/b/a Meals on Wheels Central Texas to administer the Home Delivered Meals Program to provide home-delivered meals for seniors, to add one-time funding in an amount not to exceed $100,000 to the 12-month period ending September 30, 2026, and each remaining extension option, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $824,570. Funding: $100,000 is available in the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Austin Public Health Department Operating Budget. Funding for the remaining years of the agreement is contingent upon available funding in future budgets.

The initial agreement was executed in an amount under the approved Council limit. Approval of Amendment No. 1 will provide home-delivered meals for seniors for the term beginning on October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026. The Home Delivered Meals Program combats food insecurity, reduces malnutrition, and improves social and emotional well-being for older adults and individuals with disabilities who need assistance preparing quality meals through safety checks and access to programs that support independent living.
