Fiscal Note
Funding in the amount of $840,300 is included in the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Downtown Austin Community Court Operating Budget.

Prior Council Action:
On August 16, 2023, Council approved Ordinance No. 20230816-008 adopting the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Operating Budget. On September 1, 2022, Council approved agenda item 20220901-003 authorizing negotiation and execution of an agreement with Family Eldercare.

This action will authorize negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 1 with Family Eldercare to
approve the extension of the current permanent supportive housing (PSH) services and add additional funding.

This agreement was originally awarded via an emergency procurement due to the Downtown Austin Community Court (DACC) terminating its prior contract in September 2022. On July 18, 2022, DACC and Austin Public Health hosted nine organizations to present the opportunity of entering into emergency agreements for services transitioning away from Front Steps, including the PSH program. In response, three organizations submitted an Interest Form for the DACC PSH emergency agreement. An internal committee reviewed the applications and made a determination based on the information provided and DACC priorities.
