Austin Independent School District (AISD) is constructing and remodeling multiple school facilities in response to a recently approved AISD bond package. This work requires inspections by Austin Fire (AFD). Additionally, AISD is required to maintain fire safety standards at its facilities. AISD has requested AFD assign a member of the fire marshal’s office to help with 1) technical inspections of the existing and upcoming construction/remodel projects and 2) life safety/fire protection maintenance inspections of all schools in coordination with other AFD personnel. In return, AISD will compensate the City for the salary of the fire marshal assigned under this interlocal agreement.
