On April 11, 2019, Council authorized negotiation and execution of a contract with Kaplan Kirsch LLP for legal services related to agreements with airlines that operate out of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in an amount not to exceed $200,000.

Kaplan Kirsch LLP (Firm) is the largest dedicated airport law practice firm in the country with experience at more than 100 airports nationwide. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) faces unique challenges and this amendment will allow Aviation and Law staff to have access to unique and expert legal advice in a quick and efficient manner. The Firm will provide legal services regarding federal laws and regulations, grant assurances, and grant funding requirements related to the development and negotiation of airline use and lease agreements. Additional funding is requested to meet the unique and additional challenges faced by AUS.
