December 14, 2017 - Resolution No. 20171214-56, authorizing the submission of City projects for the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization's 2019-2022 Call for Projects, was approved on a 10-0 vote with Council Member Troxclair off the dais.

The Transportation and Public Works Department (TPW) intends to submit grant applications to the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) for federal transportation funding through the Transportation Alternative Set-Aside (TASA) and Carbon Reduction Program (CRP) funding programs. TASA includes funding specifically for smaller-scale transportation projects such as pedestrian and bicycle facilities, urban trails, and safe routes to school projects. CRP is a new program established in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and includes funding for projects designed to reduce transportation emissions. These projects include ITS infrastructure projects, transit projects, and TASA eligible projects.
This funding opportunity will allocate $68.7 million to entities within the six-county CAMPO region through a competitive call for projects. Staff proposes to submit projects that advance the City of Austin's mobility and climate goals in alignment with the requirements of these funding programs. Candidate projects include:
