Prior Council Action:
July 24, 2025 - Council authorized a contract for construction services for the New Mexic-Arte Museum for Capital Delivery Services with SpawGlass Contractors, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $14,000,000.

Mexic-Arte enriches the community by offering educational programs and exhibitions, and by collecting, preserving, and interpreting Mexican, Latino, and Latin American art and culture for visitors of all ages.

The City is managing the architectural design and construction management contracts for the demolition and reconstruction of Mexic-Arte's downtown location at 419 Congress Avenue. During this period, Mexic-Arte will temporarily relocate its operations to the Austin History Center, located at 810 Guadalupe Street. Mexic-Arte will enter into a 36-month lease with one 12-month extension option, for approximately 12,072 rentable square feet of space.
