September 1, 2022 - Council approved resolution No. 20220901-133 on consent for execution of a one-year meet and confer agreement between the City and the Austin EMS Association relating to wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment for certain employees of the Emergency Medical Services Department.

BUDGET COST:
Four-year cost is approximately $32,068,450.
First year (Fiscal Year 2024) cost is approximately $4,104,560.
ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS:
The proposed agreement addresses vacancies through recruitment and retention; allows for the Chief to appoint executive staff, including Division Chiefs; allows for an easier path for crossing between Field and Communications and allows more flexibility in Promotions.
All other major provisions of the current contract are retained.
