Prior Council Action:

February 16, 2017 - Council approved Ordinance No. 20170216-034 establishing the South Central Waterfront Advisory Board (SCWAB).

Council Committee, Boards and Commission Action:

March 4, 2026 - Audit and Finance Committee recommend dissolution of the South Central Waterfront Advisory Board due to not meeting for over six months on a vote of 5-0.

Additional Backup Information:

Per City Code Section 2-1-45(B), if a commission has failed to convene a meeting for a period of six months, the Council Audit and Finance Committee shall make a recommendation to Council on whether to continue the board. The recommendation must be made within 60 days of receiving this notice, which is March 31, 2026, unless dissolution of the board is prohibited by other law. As this is not a state-mandated board but purely one created by City ordinance, there is no other law that prohibits dissolution of the board.

The SCWAB has not met for a period of over six months. Accordingly, the Council Audit and Finance Committee recommended dissolution of the board. This ordinance dissolves the board and deletes the relevant section of City Code pertaining to the board.
