Additional Backup Information:

The City enforces floodplain regulations as prescribed by City Code Title 25 (Land Development). Currently, these floodplain regulations apply only in the City’s full purpose jurisdiction in Travis County and Williamson County. Recently, the City incorporated portions of land in Hays County into our full purpose jurisdiction. In addition, FEMA has recently approved an updated floodplain study in Hays County that is partially within the City’s full purpose jurisdiction.

This requested Code revision ensures existing floodplain regulations related to the establishment of flood hazard areas apply consistently in the City’s full purpose jurisdiction and is required by FEMA for the City to participate in FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program.
