Funding: $161,280 is available in the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Operating Budget of Austin Public Health. Funding for the remaining contract term is contingent upon available funding in future budgets.

August 28, 2025 – Council authorized negotiation and execution of an amendment to an agreement with American Gateways to provide legal pro se assistance for individuals representing themselves in court, to add one 12-month extension option through the term ending on September 30, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $179,200, for a new revised total contract amount not to exceed $467,500 approved on a 10-0 vote.
November 7, 2024 – Council authorized negotiation and execution of an amendment to an agreement with American Gateways to provide legal pro se assistance for individuals representing themselves in immigration court, adding one-time funding in an amount not to exceed $109,200 for the term ending on September 30, 2025, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $288,300 approved on a 10-1 vote.
