City Code Section 12-5-29 FRONT OR SIDE YARD PARKING was created in 2002 to prohibit a person from parking a motor vehicle in the front or side yard of a residential property except on a driveway or a paved parking space depicted on an approved plan. This section of City Code applies only to residential properties within the areas shown on the Restricted Front & Side Yard Parking Area Map.

There are two ways a neighborhood may request that these parking restrictions apply to their area: (1) during the neighborhood planning process; or (2) submit an application during the open filing period in February of each year.

The following neighborhood association applied in February 2024 requesting that the restrictions on parking in the front or side yard of a residential property apply to their respective area: Springwoods Park Neighbors Neighborhood Association.

This group has filed an application and satisfactorily met the notice and voting requirements as established by Ordinance No. 030717-131.

The Planning Department recommends that the Restricted Front & Side Yard Parking Area Map be amended to include the requested area.
