Prior Council Action:
December 11, 2025 - City Council authorized negotiation and execution of a fourth amendment to the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services Fiscal Year 2025-2026 interlocal agreement with Travis County to provide emergency medical services in areas of Travis County outside the City’s corporate limits and dispatch support services to Travis County’s STAR Flight program in exchange for a payment from Travis County in an amount not to exceed $18,884,963.

Additional Backup Information:
Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services has been providing emergency medical services to Travis County for over thirty years. The term of the most recent interlocal agreement ended on September 30, 2025. EMS staff is currently in discussions with County staff concerning changes to the terms of the agreement, which are expected to be minor. This item would increase the County’s payment to the City by 3.5 percent from the FY 2025-2026 amount.
