Authorize negotiation and execution of an interlocal agreement with Travis County for the City’s provision of animal services to the County for a term of one year beginning October 1, 2026, with up to four one-year extension options. Funding: During Fiscal Year 2026-2027, Travis County will pay the City $3,735,018 for services provided by Austin Animal Services.

Since 1985, Austin Animal Services has provided animal services throughout the unincorporated areas of Travis County (County) through various agreements.
If approved, this item will allow Austin Animal Services to provide animal protection, shelter services, wildlife mitigation services, and public education to Travis County residents.
