October 29, 2020 – Council approved Resolution No. 20201029-013 reappointing Jolsna Thomas to the Firefighters’, Police Officers’ and Emergency Medical Services Personnel’s Civil Service Commission on a 10-0 vote with Council Member Harper-Madison off the dais.
October 19, 2017 – Council approved Resolution No. 20171019-010 appointing Jolsna Thomas to the Firefighters’, Police Officers’ and Emergency Medical Services Personnel’s Civil Service Commission on an 11-0 vote.

The Firefighters’, Police Officers’ and Emergency Medical Services Personnel’s Civil Service Commission (Commission) was established to ensure general compliance with applicable provisions of Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 143 (Municipal Civil Service for Firefighters and Police Officers); the local Civil Service Rules established by the Commission; and any current agreements between the City and associations representing firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical services personnel. The Commission may take action on matters related to promotion, appeals of promotional exams, and suspension and termination, as well as other matters regarding firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical services personnel in accordance with the above-mentioned statutes, rules, and agreements.
