Prior Council Action:
April 9, 2020 - City Council approved the execution of an amendment to the interlocal agreement for the Austin Regional Intelligence Center (ARIC) on consent on Council Member Harper-Madison’s motion, Council Member Alter’s second, on an 11-0 vote.

The ARIC is a collaborative effort between partnering agencies providing resources, expertise, and information to a single center to enhance the ability to detect, prevent, and respond to emerging crime trends or potential terrorism activity by linking existing law enforcement data. There are currently 25 partner agencies in the Central Texas area. By approving this amendment, the City amends the interlocal agreement for the ARIC, merging the Original Agreement, subsequent amendments, and the Sustainment Funding Agreement to streamline administrative processes. In this amended and restated interlocal agreement, Council will continue to review and approve future interlocal agreement changes and the addition of any new partners.
