Prior Council Action:
March 27, 2025 - Council approved Ordinance No. 20250327-053 amending the Austin Public Health Department Operating Budget to include $743,550 from the Texas Department of State Health Services Sexually Transmitted Disease/Human Immunodeficiency Virus Disease Intervention Specialists (STD/HIV-DIS) Contract. Ordinance No. 20250327-053 was approved on an 11-0 vote.

Funding under this contract, the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) initiative, is intended to build on the ongoing activities funded through the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) TB/HIV/STI Section to strategically advance (i.e., initiate new or expand existing) HIV prevention and surveillance efforts in specific jurisdictions in Texas.
