December 4, 2020 - Parks and Recreation Board working group presentation and recommendation to amend Chapter 14-1, which was adopted under Ordinance 20160324-021.
November 27, 2023 - Parks and Recreation Board recommended to amend City Code relating to the naming or renaming of facilities, features or properties that are part of the City's park system with the elimination of ?14-1-51(F) on a 9-0 vote. Recommendation No. 20231127-8.
Additional Backup Information:
The Parks and Recreation Department receives multiple applications for naming and renaming park facilities and features annually. If approved, this ordinance will repeal the existing park-specific provisions and establish a new process to amend park facilities, features, and properties.
On November 27, 2023, the Parks and Recreation Board recommended that City Council amend City Code relating to the naming or renaming of facilities, features, or properties that are part of the City's park system with the revision of ?14-1-31, the repeal of 14-1-35 through 14-1-39 and the creation of a new Article 5 as posted in the backup to the Parks and Recreation Board of November 27, 2023 with the caveat that ?14-1-51(F) be eliminated from the draft.
