Prior Council Action:
October 23, 2025 - Council approved Ordinance No. 20251023-048 amending City Code Section 2-1-174 (Austin/Travis County Public Health Commission) to provide for the membership of and member nomination to the Austin-Travis County Public Health Commission and to ensure consistency with other sections of City Code.

August 19, 2026 - The Audit and Finance Committee recommended the bylaws for adoption to the full City Council.
May 6, 2026 - The Austin-Travis County Public Health Commission recommended Council adoption of the bylaws to the Audit and Finance Committee.

If approved, the proposed bylaws would be the governing document for the Austin-Travis County Public Health Commission (Commission).
The Commission was established October 13, 2022, and serves as an advisory body to the Austin City Council and the Travis County Commissioners Court concerning public health programs, projects, services, public health and human services needs, and approaches for improvement.
In October 2025, City Council amended City Code Section 2-1-174 (Austin/Travis County Public Health Commission) to provide for the membership of and member nomination to the Commission. The Commission then drafted these proposed bylaws to ensure its membership and governance conform with amended Section 2-1-74 and other applicable City Code provisions.
