This action will accept $550,000 in grant funds from the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance FY24 Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program and amend the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Austin Municipal Court Operating Budget Special Revenue Fund (Ordinance No. 20240814-007) to appropriate $550,000 for the Downtown Austin Community Court (DACC) Mobile Court Capacity Building and Training Program, for the grant period of October 1, 2024 - September 30, 2027.
The FY24 Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program is intended to support cross-system collaboration to improve public safety responses to and outcomes for individuals with mental health disorders or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders who come into contact with the criminal justice system.
