The transfer agreement is between the City of Austin ("City") and the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) transferring ownership of an emergency generator. CAPCOG leases office space in the Bergstrom Technology Center located at 6800 Burleson Road, Suite 165, Austin, Travis County, Texas. The City previously subleased space from CAPCOG at the Bergstrom Technology Center pursuant to an interlocal agreement. The City operates a public safety 9-1-1 backup center from the previously subleased space ("Backup Center"). The interlocal agreement between the City and CAPCOG also provided for the purchase and installation of an emergency generator to serve the Backup Center. The emergency generator was purchased in 2006 utilizing State of Texas Fiscal Year 2005 9-1-1 funds authorized by Section 771.0751, Health and Safety Code, originally disbursed by CAPCOG on the City's behalf. Ownership of the emergency generator was transferred to the City by CAPCOG upon installation and functional testing.
The City no longer subleases space from CAPCOG, but continues to operate the Backup Center. The Backup Center benefits from the continued use of the emergency generator.
