Case Number: C20-2024-010 UNO Update

In April 2024, the Council adopted Resolution No. 20240418-077, which initiated amendments to the University Neighborhood Overlay (UNO). The resolution included 29 distinct items for staff consideration, including amendments to the land development code. To apply the land development code amendments initiated by Council, staff has determined that the applicable properties must be rezoned. This resolution would initiate a city-sponsored rezoning of the applicable properties. Additionally, staff has analyzed the provisions of the Central Austin Combined Neighborhood Plan and determined that an amendment is needed to ensure that the future land use map (FLUM) provides clear guidance related to desired future land uses in the area in support of the potential rezoning. This resolution would initiate an update to the FLUM for properties generally west of the University of Texas, east of Lamar Boulevard, south of 29th Street, and north of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
