If approved, this item will disannex approximately 1.02 acres within District 8 in Austin. The subject property is located on Lake Austin on the north side of Rockcliff Road.

 

Texas Senate Bill 1844, which amended Texas Local Government Code Section 43.141 and took effect on September 1, 2025, grants a majority of the property owners of an area the right to petition the governing body of the municipality to disannex the area if the area is located adjacent to a navigable waterway and the municipality has not connected the majority of the properties in the area covered by the petition, regardless of whether the area was annexed by the municipality, to the municipality ’s water and wastewater systems, if any other area in the municipality is connected to the municipality ’s water and wastewater systems.

 

On October 2, 2025, the City Clerk received a petition for the disannexation of the property located at 1404 Rockcliff Road, Case No. C7d-2025-0002. City staff has reviewed the petition and has determined its validity under the requirements of state law.
