This action will provide the required resolution needed by the State's Criminal Justice Division to complete the award process related to $89,855 in grant funding. The project period is October 1, 2026 - September 30, 2027. A City match is not required.
State funding will allow the City to provide professional training on Intermediate Electronics to eight bomb squad responders and provide professional training on specialized energetic breaching for 24 officers. APD will make up to ten spots out of the 24 available to officers from neighboring departments in the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) region.
The grantor requires a resolution approved by the governing body that addresses items 1-5 below:
