Additional Backup Information:

If approved, this item will authorize the Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) to discuss and enter into an interlocal agreement with Travis County to locate a trail within the existing Travis County-owned right-of-way (ROW) and construct a publicly accessible trail within the ROW. The ROW is approximately 0.564 acres and currently fenced off and inaccessible to the public. The ROW is not a roadway.

 

This request aligns with Council Resolution No. 20241212-065, which directs staff to look for opportunities to expand Colorado River waterfront access downstream of the Longhorn Dam through land acquisition, parkland dedication, trail easements, and other appropriate methods.
