Prior Council Action:

June 3, 2021 - Council approved Ordinance No. 20210603-057 adopting the 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code and local amendments on Mayor Pro Tem Harper-Madison's motion, Council Member Ellis' second on a 10-0 vote. Council Member Kelly was absent.

Council Committee, Boards and Commission Action:

June 25, 2024 - Adoption of the 2024 Uniform Plumbing Code and related local amendments recommended by the Mechanical & Plumbing Board on a 7-0 vote.

 

Additional Backup Information:

The Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) establishes minimum requirements to provide safe and sanitary plumbing systems for the protection of public health and welfare. The proposed ordinance reduces local amendments and decreases conflicting information. The Development Services Department (Department) obtained stakeholder feedback through the Public Input platform.

Additional UPC local amendments have been included to implement landscape transformation of new single family homes and to achieve necessary water savings, as described in the 2018 and 2024 Water Forward Plans and the 2024 Water Conservation Plan
