This agreement, when finalized, will advance the ongoing Emergency Medical Services (EMS) initiative through Austin Technology Services to integrate computer-aided dispatch systems across participating public safety agencies within a unified, cloud-based environment. The initiative establishes an interoperable platform connecting the City of Austin, City of Georgetown, Travis County, Travis County Emergency Services District No. 1 (Lago Vista Fire Department), Travis County Emergency Services District No. 2 (Pflugerville Fire Department), and Williamson County EMS. By enabling seamless data sharing and real-time unit location tracking among jurisdictions, the system supports the automatic dispatch of the closest available ambulance and district commander to 911 medical emergencies, irrespective of jurisdictional boundaries. This capability is intended to improve response times, enhance operational coordination, and expand the availability of resources during large-scale or complex incidents. The agreement represents a continued regional commitment to strengthening emergency medical response through technology modernization and interagency collaboration.
