If approved, this item will disannex approximately 0.717 acres located in Austin’s full purpose jurisdiction in District 10. The subject property is located on the south side of Manana Street, adjacent to Lake Austin.

 

Texas Senate Bill 1844 (89th Regular Session), which amended Texas Local Government Code Section 43.141 and took effect on September 1, 2025, allows a majority of the property owners of an area to petition the governing body of the municipality to disannex the area if the area is located adjacent to a navigable waterway and the municipality has not connected the majority of the properties in the area covered by the petition, regardless of whether the area was annexed by the municipality, to the municipality ’s water and wastewater systems, if any other area in the municipality is connected to the municipality ’s water and wastewater systems.

 

On October 17, 2025, the City Clerk received a petition for the disannexation of the property located at 1515 Manana Street. City staff has reviewed the petition and has determined its validity under the requirements of state law.
