Additional Backup Information:

This agreement is between the City of Austin Department of Aviation (Aviation) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for Aviation’s reimbursement of CBP for costs related to providing additional or expanded services at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (Airport), if and when those services are needed. An anticipated increase in international flights at the Airport may necessitate CBP services in addition to the baseline services appropriated to the Airport.  Federal law mandates reimbursement of these additional service costs.  The services may be needed to support the new international gates that are currently being constructed at the Airport as part of the terminal 9 gate expansion project, international arrivals at the South Terminal and/or other additional international arrivals.

Although Aviation will reimburse CBP, it will recover most, if not all, of the additional costs expended from the international flight providers benefitted by the additional or expanded services.
