The ratification is to cover emergency electric system restoration services provided by Collective Strategic Resources, LLC dba Collective Strategic Resources (CSR) to support Austin Energy (AE) during the winter weather event.

On January 24, 2026, a winter weather event was forecasted to impact AE's service territory and customer base with anticipated accumulation of one-quarter to one-half inch of ice. In anticipation of extended outages, and as part of AE's Phase Restoration approach, AE activated its Incident Management Team and secured additional resources to safely and promptly respond to customer impacts. CSR responded immediately and deployed crews and equipment to support AE. Over the course of the event, a combination of precipitation, ice and lightning resulted in customer outages and broken power poles. The storm impacted 5438 customers across all city council districts with the bulk outages occurring in Districts 3 and 10.
