September 15, 2022 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of an agreement with Salvation Army to provide emergency shelter services for the Austin Women and Children's Shelter for an initial 12-month term beginning October 1, 2022 in an amount not to exceed $1,939,765, with four 12-month extension options in a combined amount not to exceed $7,759,060, for a total agreement amount not to exceed $9,698,825, approved on consent on an 11-0 vote.

Approval of this item will authorize Austin Public Health (APH) to negotiate and execute an amendment with Salvation Army, Women and Children's Shelter, to provide additional one-time funding to operate a 24-hour emergency shelter for homeless women and children.
This agreement was originally awarded through the Request for Proposal 2022-004 Homeless Crisis Response Services (RFP). The RFP was informed by the Homeless Strategy Division and released on March 31, 2022. Two optional pre-bid meetings were conducted, one on April 4, 2022 and another on April 5, 2022.
