Authorize negotiation and execution of an amendment to the interlocal agreement with the Austin Independent School District for transportation services for students participating in the City's Watershed Education program to increase the maximum contract amount to $55,000 for Fiscal Year 2026-2027, and to increase the maximum contract amount to $55,000 for each of the two remaining one-year extension options previously authorized, for a revised total contract amount not to exceed $255,000. Funding: $55,000 is available in the Fiscal Year 2026 -2027 Austin Watershed Protection Operating Budget.

Prior Council Action:
August 31, 2023 - City Council approved the execution of an interlocal agreement with the Austin Independent School District for services supporting students participating in the City's Watershed Education programs for FY 2023-2024 in an amount not to exceed $30,000, with five additional one-year extension contract options, each in an amount not to exceed $30,000, for a total contract amount not to exceed $180,000.

Austin Independent School District (AISD) and Austin Watershed Protection (WPD) have a shared interest in providing a hands-on, outdoor environmental classroom experience for local students. WPD and AISD, in wishing to partner to transport students between their home school and various WPD field program sites throughout the city, entered into an interlocal agreement approved by City Council on August 31, 2023 (Agreement).
