The ratification was for a contract that was needed to purchase remanufactured single phase and three phase pad-mounted transformers. The transformers were needed to replenish warehouse stock for immediate issuance to construction and maintenance crews for installations within the network and to maintain existing services. Due to pandemic related labor shortages and raw material shortages, lead times on transformers dramatically impacted Austin Energy’s emergency response and project delivery times. As a result, Austin Energy declared a Critical Business Need to purchase these remanufactured transformers.
