Prior Council Action:

September 26, 2024 - Council approved Ordinance No. 20240926-112 repealing Ordinance No. 20240718-070 to establish rules of order, processes for posting agendas, procedures for speaker registration, and other rules for the general operation of Council meetings, including public hearings, work sessions, and special called and budget related meetings.

 

July 18, 2024 - Council approved Ordinance No. 20240718-070 amending City Code Chapter 2-5 relating to procedures for City Council meetings, public hearings, appeals, and committees and City Code Chapter 15-9 relating to utility rate hearings.

Legislative changes to the Texas Open Meetings Act necessitate the revision of timelines for posting meeting agenda. The recommended changes revise posting timelines and the process for distributing and posting draft and final Council meeting agendas. Staff recommends these amendments to posting procedures to maintain transparency while enhancing City business operations.
