Prior Council Action: 

July 28, 2022 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of an agreement with Ausitn Area Urban League to operate the Southbridge Bridge Shelter program, on a 9-0 vote with Council Members Fuentes and Renteria off the dais.

The Southbridge Shelter is located at 2711 South I-35 in south Austin. The fenced property has one building with three floors and 87 total rooms, some of which are used for office space for Southbridge staff and other on-site agencies. The property also contains a parking lot. 

 

The Southbridge Shelter serves adults through the HEAL Program, who have previously lived in literal homelessness. Clients typically stay three to six months with the goal of clients exiting to permanent housing. There are a total of 75 available rooms with 140 beds for shelter guests.

 

This action will authorize negotiation and execution of an extension to the agreement with Austin Area Urban League for the operation of the Southbridge shelter. This agreement was awarded via a condensed solicitation process.
