If approved, this ordinance will annex approximately 37.31 acres of right-of-way land into the City's full-purpose jurisdiction. The subject property includes portions of Hergotz Lane, Thompson Lane, Edwin Lane, Dalton Lane, and Ramirez Lane rights-of-way and is contiguous or connecting to the area commonly known as Dog's Head, in the City's current full-purpose jurisdictional boundaries in Southeast Austin.

Pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Section 43.1056, municipalities can annex right-of-way that is contiguous and runs parallel to the municipality's boundaries and is contiguous to an area annexed under Subchapter C-3. Additionally, a municipality may annex a right-of-way under this Section only if the municipality provides written notice of the annexation to the owner of the right-of-way and the owner of the right-of-way does not submit a written objection to the municipality before the date of the proposed annexation.
