Approve a resolution authorizing the submittal of potential transportation projects as candidates for the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization 2028-2031 Surface Transportation Block Grant, Transportation Alternative Set-Aside and Carbon Reduction Program Call for Projects. Funding: This item has no fiscal impact. If awarded, the City will be required to contribute 20 percent in matching funds. In that event, staff will return to Council in 2026 to seek authorization to accept and appropriate federal funds and identify the funding source for the matching funds.

December 12, 2024 - Council approved Resolution No. 20241212-057, authorizing the submission of City projects for the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organizations 2026-2029 Call for Projects.

Austin Transportation and Public Works intends to submit grant applications to the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) through the 2028-2031 Call for Projects for federal funding from the Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG), Transportation Alternative Set-Aside (TASA), and Carbon Reduction Program (CRP) funding programs.
The STBG program supports a wide range of transportation improvements including roadway reconstruction, safety projects, and planning or engineering activities that improve the efficiency of the regional transportation network.
