If approved, this ordinance will allow for the voluntary annexation of approximately 2,614 acres of land into the City's full purpose jurisdiction . The subject property is located in eastern Travis County, located between the Colorado River, US Highway 183, and State Highway 130, in the area generally known as Dog's Head.

Pursuant to Local Government Code Section 43.0671, municipalities may annex an area if the owner of land requests annexation. State law requires a municipality to provide notice and conduct a public hearing to provide persons interested in annexation the opportunity to be heard. The City Council may adopt an ordinance annexing the area for full purposes and execute an agreement with the owner of the land for the provision of municipal services at the conclusion of the public hearing.
