Fiscal Note
Funding in the amount of $153,750 is available in the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Operating Budget of the Economic Development Department. Funding for future fiscal years is dependent on Council appropriation.

Prior Council Action:
March 24, 2022 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of an agreement with the Greater Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce to market Austin on an 11-0 vote.

Since March 24, 2022, the Diversity and Ethnic Chamber Alliance (DECA) remains comprised of the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Each of the chambers continue to operate as separate entities under the DECA framework to develop the implementation of the Regional Economic Equity Development Plan and other deliverables as proposed through the negotiation and execution of prior contracts. The focus will be on:

* Creating jobs for minority and LGBT communities by marketing Austin as a place to operate a business with a diverse workforce;

* Strengthening our job creation efforts and enhancing our economic stability and diversity by providing corporate business retention and expansion services;
