Prior Council Action:
August 17, 2022 - Council approved Ordinance No. 20220817-004 for the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 City budget that included $167,000 in grant appropriations for the Homeless Housing and Services Program General Set-Aside Grant, on a 10-1 vote.

On May 4, 2023, the City received notification of the 2024 allocation of funding to Austin for the Homeless Housing and Services Program (HHSP) Youth Set-Aside grant in the amount of $231,319 for the program period of September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2024, which includes an additional $64,319 from the $167,000 previously approved by Council.
HHSP Youth Set-Aside funding will be allocated for emergency shelter services, case management, street outreach, and housing assistance for homeless youth and young adults up to age 24 through our partnership with Youth and Family Alliance d/b/a LifeWorks. Performance measures will be negotiated during contract development.
