The Watershed Protection Department has identified flood risks in parts of the West Bouldin Creek Watershed due to inadequate storm drain infrastructure.
To address the flood risks, the Watershed Protection Department is proposing a storm drain infrastructure project that will reduce the risk of flooding to buildings and roadways near the watershed. This request is for an extension of the current workspace easement for the infrastructure project. This infrastructure project will be done in coordination with the South Lamar Corridor Project. Coordinating it in conjunction with the South Lamar Corridor Project will extend the overall project schedule, requiring extended use of the temporary workspace easement previously obtained for the project. The collaboration between projects will reduce the amount of disturbance to the surrounding neighborhood and reduce the costs to the City by combining the construction efforts along Bluebonnet Drive and Del Curto Road.
