March 4, 2026 - Audit and Finance Committee recommend the proposed amendments to the bylaws of the Commission on Aging.

The Commission on Aging serves as an advisory board to the council concerning the quality of life for older adults in the Austin area and to help ensure they are productive, independent, and healthy.
The proposed bylaw amendments will correct outdated references to city departments, clarify staff support roles and create a new age-friendly advisory committee consisting of five Commission on Aging members, which will: 1) monitor the progress of the Age Friendly Austin Action Plan, 2) champion older adult involvement in the plan development and implementation, 3) review and recommend plan revisions, and 4) ensure community alignment through collaboration with City departments and the older adult community.
