Prior Council Action:
January 23, 2014 - Council authorized the execution of an interlocal agreement with Austin Community College (ACC) to provide Austin Fire Department cadets with completion certificates from ACC's Department of Continuing Education for training academy courses that are consistent with advanced certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection's curriculum and to convert the certificates to ACC college credit hours.

The term of this agreement is from October 1, 2024 through August 31, 2026. The parties are negotiating this agreement to replace a prior expiring agreement that provided dual enrollment opportunities in Austin Community College (ACC) courses for Austin Fire Department (AFD) cadets.
This Agreement continues a longstanding relationship between ACC and AFD for ACC to assist AFD with development and implementation of a training program that provides fire cadets with opportunities to pursue higher education, State of Texas certification class, and receive college credit for completed instruction.
