Fiscal Note
The update to the ILA is negotiating an increase in the reimbursement for services provided by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer. The proposed increase annual charge to DPS is $204,647 for the first year, with a 3% annualized increase; total contract value with optional extensions is $1,819,789.89. This increase is due to DPS requesting more physician time for training sessions, response, and support. This, in turn, causes a requisite increase in support staff time.
This item has no fiscal impact.
Prior Council Action:
December 13, 2018 - Council approved Consent Agenda item 102, which approved the current interlocal agreement with DPS for medical oversight on an 8-0 vote with Mayor Adler and Council Member Flannigan off the dais.

At the request of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Office of the Chief Medical Officer will provide medical direction services to the Texas Department of Public Safety within the City of Austin, Travis County and the Texas Department of Public Safety sites across the State of Texas.
Medical direction services shall include the following:
* Medical direction for First Responder Organizations within Texas DPS facilities.
* Medical oversight of Automatic External Defibrillator (AEDs) programs within Texas DPS facilities
across the State of Texas.
