Additional Backup Information:
Austin Public Health (APH) provides free healthy lifestyle education classes for the prevention and control of chronic diseases. This includes diabetes education and self-management classes as well as PreventT2, a program designed to prevent type 2 diabetes. These classes are offered in community-based locations, such as neighborhood centers, faith-based organizations, schools, and clinics. APH currently provides these classes at schools for parents and caregivers in Manor Independent School District, as well as clients at the University of Texas at Austin, School of Nursing’s Social Resource Center located in Del Valle. The purpose of these interlocal agreements is to clarify roles and responsibilities for the provision of these free classes by APH in these locations. There is no exchange of funds through these agreements.
