Additional Backup Information:
The contract will provide for temporary fence rental of model CE1.2 fencing primarily for crowd control of pedestrian traffic. At the direction of City Management, Austin Police Department, Chief Davis requested that the Downtown Area Command develop a safe way to open the East Sixth Street Corridor on a trial basis. During this trial, data will be collected to determine the benefits and consequences of opening the street. The traffic plan includes the deployment of specialized fencing to simulate an expanded sidewalk to allow visitors sufficient ingress and egress to the Entertainment District.
