The Onion Creek Metro Park District was created by Senate Bill No. 1872, 83rd Legislature, Regular Session, Special District Local Laws Code Chapter 3924 (Code). Section 3924.052 of the Code provides that the City Council shall appoint three District directors from persons nominated by the City and four District directors nominated by the District’s Board of Directors (Board). The 2014 Consent Decree between the City and the District Directors provides that as vacancies occur, the City shall nominate directors to replace the City directors, the Board shall nominate directors to replace the District directors, and the City Council shall appoint them.
These appointments are term limited to three, four-year terms.
